1. Money​

pay up​

  • return (usually unwillingly) all the money you have borrowed （不情愿地）付清，全部付清

Dan has owed me £200 for six months, but he's finally paid up. 丹欠我200英镑已经六个月了，但他终于还清了。

pay back​

  • return the money you have borrowed 偿还，还钱给

I lent Jenny $20 yesterday and she paid me back today. 我昨天借给珍妮20美元，她今天还给我了。

come into​

  • receive suddenly; inherit 突然获得；继承

fork out (for)​

2. Bills and debts​

run up​

Try to pay your bills as soon as they arrive. They can soon add up. 账单一到就尽量付清。它们很快就会累积起来。

settle up​

  • pay all the money you owe 结清账目，付清欠款

pay off​

  • pay all the money you owe 还清（债务）

He doesn't know how he's going to pay them off. 他不知道该如何还清他们的钱。

run to​
